Our Mission

Extending Stanford Research and Teaching to the World

CGOE has established a scalable, sustainable model of increased access to faculty teaching and research through a mix of outreach initiatives and tuition-based programs. These Stanford programs are delivered online, on campus, and at company locations. They  include credit-bearing graduate degree and certificate programs; credentialed professional, enterprise, and custom education programs; and low cost and free and open learning opportunities.

Setting the Standard for Non-degree Credentials

CGOE stewards the Stanford Credential Framework which standardizes requirements and rigor across a large portfolio of online and global education programs offering stackable, non-degree credentials.  It provides guidelines and assistance university-wide, and issues the majority of non-degree credentials through Stanford Online.
